Welcome Summer – Hello July!

By the Native American calendar, July brings to us the Crazy Moon. Look around and it’s not a surprise. It requires of us adaptability, ingenuity, strategic thinking and it has arrived to reset the balances—gracefully if you’ve been paying attention and doing your inner-work, and not so much if you have not. With the Crazy Moon and Coyote Spirit operating concurrently, you may have your world burned to the ground so that you may begin again on the correct path. Uncomfortable, but necessary. But what it is teaching us is that we must become comfortable with the uncomfortable, and that we must live in the flow while adjusting to the changes around us, welcome or not. But do not fear, for you are capable of far more than you imagined.

– What’s Happening This Month –

As always, we offer a variety of services, readings, products and more to help you remain stable and calm and to help you ‘move’ when required and create ease when it is needed. We’ve welcomed into the Shop new gemstones, jewelry, candles, incense, oracle and tarot decks and more.

One of the items worth your time and attention this month, if you are called to these things, is our new line of candles by Mystic Purities that will help you to embrace your inner magic. A quick word on burning candles because this question has come up a lot recently: make sure you cut the wick to one quarter of an inch, and most importantly, light the candle only when you have time to allow the candle wax to reach a full melt pool, which may take up to one hour to one and a half hours. This step is important as wax has a ‘melt memory’ so this will prevent your candle from ‘tunneling’. This will help your candle to last longer, and for those of you practicing candle magic, it will give you a more accurate reading on how your spell, prayer and intentions are working.

If you enjoy working with incense and aromatherapy, check out our full line, as well as our newest hand rolled, curated and 100 natural Incensed, which comes cleverly packaged from the artisan in test tube vials to preserve freshness.

This is a good month to do lots of inner work so that the sun can burn off what creates distress in you. To help guide and direct you, as well as provide valuable information about the issues at hand or your future, we have lots of decks in stock that you can test. I mention this because I have found these are one of the best ways you can deepen your spiritual practices, as well as get quick and practical information to guide your day. You can read more about our tarot and oracle decks below, but allow me to call to your attention a few of my favorites. For those of you who are seeking grace, freedom and radical transformation: the Kali Oracle is worth your attention. For those of you seeking to reconnect with the wisdom of nature and deepen your path and your calling, the Secret Language of Animals is one of the best and most consistently helpful decks I’ve used. We’ve also welcomed into the Shop Dr. Steven Farmer’s new deck, Messages from the Spirits of Nature Oracle. This is a deck designed to spark insights and healings via messages from the Spirits of trees, rivers, stone and animals. It’s simple and it’s lovely.

Welcome May

This month, the Gods give way to the Goddesses, who rule and watch over this month of May. Goddess energy this month is strong. Many of us are undecided about how we stand in the face of these changes and adversity we witness all around us. For many others, there is an awakening and a deepening of something strong and solid in our core seeding what it is will come next, even if we do not know what form that will take. For some, this creates fear and anxiety. For others, a digging in and a desire to affect change in the areas of their passions. It is the women who will rule this planet; for men have held the power for too long. And what has been done with it? This is by no means a ‘putting aside’ of male energy–both are needed in their correct forms, and in correct measure so that ALL of us evolve and to thrive.

We have worshiped Goddesses since the beginning of time—the Lady Mary, who birthed the Christ energy; Sekhmet, a bringer of war and of peace, of justice and accountability; Kali, who helps those who cannot voice their anger and rage be heard rather than ignored; Green Tara, a comforter of those who are lost and who seek solace. Chang’e, the awakener of self-awareness, and like this goddess, you are capable of being reborn. And so many more…

Think of the Goddesses you pray to or admire. What quality do they represent? For those are the qualities you seek for yourself, or that you possess in some measure that will grow within you should your prayers to these Divine Beings be heard and addressed.

And without self-consciousness, allow the goddess inside you to shine, to nourish yourself and others, and to create peace when you can, and justice when you must.
Inviting Goddess energy is not the rah-rah false empowerment that encourages you to be more-than so others are less that is put forth by neophytes and false prophets with big followings and slick marketing presentations. True Goddess energy is about standing firm in your beliefs, your authenticity, your integrity, honor and ability to speak the truth without harm to another, except when harm is warranted. (And even then, I would caution care.) This takes a special kind of courage honed over time, with hardship and glory, with love and devotion and a strength that is developed by living and learning and giving and taking and seeing clearly who you are and who you are not, where you are strong and where you are not. Accepting. Then behaving accordingly. We are all capable. Now what will you do with this?

How fitting that the month of the Goddesses also holds the most precious of all days: Mother’s Day. Time to honor the woman who gave you life, so what better time than to have a sale? You don’t have to be a mom to take advantage of it—for we all are moms to something or someone! We’re offering 10% off all gemstones and minerals, and tarot and oracle cards. We also have Gift Certificates for those of you who can’t decide, or who would rather Mom make her own choices. Stop in May 1 – 8 and take advantage of the savings!

For now, at posting time, we wanted to make you aware that it’s happening and that details will follow shortly.

Welcome November at Moonstone & Sage!

A recurring theme with all of us at Moonstone, and with many of our customers is that of ‘letting go’, settling in, and crafting what you will manifest next in your life. We’re fast approaching the time of year when we settle into our environments—physical, mental, spiritual and psychological. We assess what’s been working for us and what hasn’t, and what we want to create for the year to come. For some, this shift has been subtle; for others, not so much. Many are feeling it is being forced upon us, and there is truth there. For what we hold onto too long—beliefs, ways of being, thinking, acting and more, are taken from us when we’ve been too long, or not at all, letting go gracefully. And here we are, and for better or worse, there is beauty and hope within all of it.

For November, we’ve brought in a supply of journals, calendars and books to assist you through these next days, months, and the coming year.

Welcome October at Moonstone & Sage!

Fall has arrived—a season for balancing light and dark, for letting go and for deciding what will stay that can be built up or come to fruition. It is a time of change, mystery, preservation, protection, comfort and for accepting the impermanence of things. To that end, we have (new) upcoming events this month to help you honor and release the past, as well as to welcome, craft and cultivate your future. This month, we’re all about comfort and looking toward the season of rest—from clothing, books, or divination tools. We have in comfy hoodies to snuggle inside of once the cool temperatures come upon us; prayer flags to carry your prayers, intention and mantras to those Gods and Goddesses who watch over us, as well as a brand new assortment of incense, books, divination tools, and oracle and tarot cards.

Once each year, we are blessed with an opportunity to honor the Ancestor’s Moon, with a special Ancestor’s Moon Ceremony—a ritual of remembrance that brings release and healing. There is more on this listed in the event section below, but it is your time to journey to communicate with the ones you have lost, whether human or animal companion, to make your peace with their passing and to let them go to journey on to what comes next for them. It is an emotional and healing moment that frees both you and them so that both move on to be who they are to become. If you have not experienced this powerful moment, this is your time—Saturday, October 2, 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm. Reservations are needed and space is limited to respect CDC recommendations. Please arrive early to be smudged off and seated, and to lay your items on the altar for blessings. See below for additional details and for instructions for the community pot luck after. The event will be held in-person.

On October 16, we offer our first ever Magic and Manifestation workshop. Here you will learn how to craft your desires into practical reality by blending Heaven and Earth to manifest proper outcome. Reservations needed. Bring your current manifestation tools, whatever they may or may not be, and some specific intention or dream you wish to manifest, If you do not have these presently, feel no pressure and benefit from the general discussion. We’ll talk what is magic, where to find it, how to use it and the practical aspects of manifesting your dreams, desires and intentions. It would be my personal wish that you leave understanding exactly how to craft your own personal magic in life, and how to bring it to life. See our events section below or on our website for details and registration. The event is in-person. Bring a journal, calendar, or there will be some for purchase at the shop on that day. (Participants will get a 10% discount on purchases on October 16 only.)

The Rise Of The New Moon

A new moon is always a good time for a reset and for beginning a new cycle. There is a burst of new energy and inspiration that can be harnessed as fuel for a new project, relationship or intention. This (Virgo) moon specifically triggers a potent energy that can be experienced either as fear and anxiety or as excitement for a positive shift, since it has to do with inevitable change. Intuition is enhanced and you can get downloads of insights, truth and clarity.

This moon also brings to the surface a self-awareness of behaviors, energy leaks, dysfunctional aspects of your “story”, and encourages leaving your comfort zone to make a change, broaden your container, and step out into a new landscape. This could increase your excitement and inspiration, or you may feel irritated or uncomfortable. Make sure you are not projecting any negativity onto others and watch potential projections of others onto you.

There is also a desire to organize chaos and make a plan. It is a good time to do some physical organization in your personal environment such as filing, cleaning and decluttering. Strive for balance between much needed personal alone time for reflection and connecting with others in a social container.

Welcome to end of Summer!

August is a transition month—one season winds down and another sets up to begin. This is as it should be for one thing always becomes another, and nature abhors a vacuum. As the Summer winds down, our thoughts begin the slow turn toward Fall, when the leaves change color, fall to the ground, and the seasons of introspection begin.
Yet, it IS still August AND Summer and many of us yearn for the last hurrah—the last chance to pack into Summer all we didn’t get to do. For the seeds we planted this season: How did they grow—in all the gardens…of the land, the body, the heart and the mind? What will be added, what will turn over, and where will we need to begin again, or refine what already has been set into motion? As with all we do here at Moonstone and Sage, we exist to assist those who come through our doors find the solace, the growth, the change or the respite they seek or they need.

If your goal this year was to accomplish something—whether you yearned to find your place in this world, deepen your spiritual practice, or reduce the clutter in mind, heart and home, manifest a specific outcome, or a myriad of other hopes and dreams that manifest as goals, this is the time to evaluate and reevaluate and refine.
